In July of 2021, Simmons Pet Food opened its doors in Dubuque, Iowa. Because of rapid business growth, they needed additional storage nearby. In response to this, in 2023, Simmons hired Gronen which broke ground on Seippel Warehouse – an expansive 252,748 square foot new construction warehouse nearly adjacent to Simmons’ production facility.
In addition to its close proximity to Simmons Pet Food, a new road was constructed, connecting the warehouse to the existing Simmons Pet Food facility. Significant grading and landscaping, including a nature trail, completed the project.
This project required significant resource development and the efforts of public/private partners in a short window of time to achieve this vision. The community collaboration that made this possible to support economic vibrancy and build workforce in the Dubuque community was no small feat.
